LAFC Twitter League is Back!

September 13, 2020 by Jerry Reynoso in LAFC, Fantasy Football

The time has finally come! Football is Back, which means the return of Fantasy Football and The LAFC Twitter League! With an expansion of four more teams, new PPR rules, and prizes involved, the second edition of the LAFC Twitter League is the most anticipated season yet! Let’s meet our league participants!

Los Angeles saga (Commissioner)

Managed by Jerry Reynoso (Black Conference), Jerry began playing Fantasy Football since the 2012-13 NFL Season, playing when he was about 11 years old. Co-managing a team with his father, Jerry helped lead his team win his first year in his uncle’s fantasy league. Fast forward to 2019, Jerry wanted to interact with his fellow Black and Gold fellowship through his passion of fantasy sports on Twitter, thus he created the LAFC Twitter League. The league began at a 8 team managed supper league, where LAFC supporters played for bragging rights and glory. After a successful inaugural season, Jerry has expanded the league to four more teams, inviting four more elite Fantasy Footballers, and creating one of the grandest traditions in the Black and Gold community.

Zeus Laser (Defending Champ)

Managed by Kirk Kinsey (Black Conference). All the way from Arizona, Kirk is a die-hard football supporter and proud ambassador of the Black and Gold brand. The defending champ spends countless nights of therapeutic sessions, talking about LAFC’s performance right after the game on his podcast, The Counter Press Podcast. Kirk is also a contributor for The Bancnote, an LAFC based media group ran by supporters.

Managed by Mauricio Medina (Black Conference), Mauro is a sports fanatic who belongs to the streets! Straight outta Compton and somehow a Ravens fan, Mauro took his educational talents to Banana Slug country in UC Santa Cruz, where he majored in Psychology. From the hood to a degree, Mauricio continues to make his family proud…Until too many white claws begin to kick in. Regardless of the beverage in hand or where he came from, Compa Mauro will forever remain in the same spot in the North End, setting up his last second fantasy lineup.

Managed by Monty Stevenson (Gold Conference), one of the founding members of the 3252, this Expo is definitely an OG. Building the club’s culture with his bare hands, Monty also uses his hands to grub on some Wingstop, but when it comes to Fantasy Football, Monty is Tom Brady. Gathering Titles after titles in a span of 10+ years, Monty is the standard. But coming into the league for the first time, can he and his squad live up to that standard?

borrego FC

Adjustments.jpeg

Managed by Jesse Medina (Gold Conference), Borrego is a mighty mouse sleeper when it comes to Fantasy. His squad tends to prove the projections wrong, but when it comes to his fitness journey, Jesse is already a champion. Can he bring that “Brick by Brick” mentality into the season this year?

Los Rudos

Adjustments.jpeg

Managed by Rudy Gonzalez (Gold Conference), Now, we have a few grillers in the league, but nobody loves grilling as much as Rudy. While holding down ‘La Raza’ in Oxnard, Rudy’s cooking can be smelled all they way from ‘The Banc’, through the 110 Freeway. After a runner-up season last year, can Rudy lead his clan of gridiron athletes to an LTL championship?

RATL

Managed by Josue Villanueva (Gold Conference), From the North End to his fingertips, Chiquilin knows a thing or two about active support and football. Serving as the director of the 3252 last year, And also a proud member of ‘Steelers Nation’, Josue looks to dominate his debut season and finish up with a ring in his bag. Can Chiqui’ live up to expectations? Or will the rookie slump out of his conference?

BlkHeartGoldBlood

D3D9A289-7650-458A-9400-3C4980FF7937.jpeg

Managed by Aleman (Gold Conference), When it comes to who’s house it is, Aleman has the misconception that it’s the Ram’s house, when they don’t even pay rent there. But regardless of who’s it is, Aleman is willing to bring the smackdown, whether it’s home or away, it doesn’t matter! Know your roll and shut your mouth, because an Animal is here to tear the house down!

Raider Nation

Adjustments.jpeg

Managed by Jerry Reynoso Sr. (Gold Conference),One Bad ass musician and huge sports fan of the Silver and Black as well as the Black and Gold. Jerry Sr. Is ready to dominate and take what belongs to him... “Kirk, that trophy belongs on my Mantle!”

Managed by Bryan Milliren (Gold Conference), Bryan is a die hard LA Chargers fan and a great childhood friend of Jerry’s. Growing up with a broken heart, Bryan remains forever faithful to his squad. Bryan is currently a student at Cal-State Dominguez Hills and was once alongside Jerry as a Co-Host of the Los Angeles Saga Podcast and helps with coverage of LAFC and Chargers football.

F***TheAsstros

Managed by David Reynoso (Black Conference), As a musician, David is as quick as he can be when it comes to his fingers, so setting up his last minute fantasy lineup is not a problem. What his problem is his team: the New York Giants. Nonetheless, David is the funnest uncle any nephew can ask for, and is looking to grab that ring this year, no matter what!
